Small-Scale Food Processing for Local Markets
Knowing how to process and add value to farm products is a vital marketing and financial boost for farmers. Furthermore, added-value products such as canned goods, cheeses, and baked goods make it possible for consumers to eat locally throughout the year. As we work to bring together all elements of a local food system, NYSAWG continues a strong partnership with the New York Small Scale Food Processors Association (NYSSFPA). We are currently collaborating with the NYSSFPA to reach out to small-scale food processors and make them aware of the importance of their role in local food systems.
